Follow these steps to scan your computer with Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition.

Once Ad-Aware has finished, you can close it. It is recommended that you restart your computer after scanning.

1. Click Start > All Programs > Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal > Ad-Aware SE Personal.
2. You may see a message that states your definitions are old. Click OK.
3. Click Connect and Ad-Aware will check for new definitions for Ad-Aware.
4. If Ad-Aware finds a new definitions file, click OK.
5. After Ad-Aware finishes updating, click Finish.
6. Ad-Aware will now open. Click Start in the lower right-hand corner.
7. Select Perform full system scan and click Next. (Figure 1)
8. Ad-Aware will begin scanning your computer. This may take several minutes depending on your computer.
9. When Ad-Aware is finished scanning, click Next.
10. Right-click anywhere inside the box titled "Target families detected on this system." From the pop-up menu, click Select All Objects and then click Next. (Figure 2)
11. Ad-Aware will ask you if you are sure you want to remove the objects it detected. Click OK. (Figure 3)
12. Ad-Aware will quarantine and remove the detected objects from your computer.
